Hot stove league (sports)

my reds made a move, they traded with the dodgers for puig, kemp, and wood. should make them better but not a favorite in a very good nl central. supposedly there is more to come for reds fans according to the gm. this is kind of a new thing as they haven’t been players on the free agent market lately. personally I like to see them invest in a top notch farm system with a lot of good young talent. I don’t really think paying free agents is a good way to go in Cincinnati, who will only draw 20,000 per game on down years, less than that last year. but all their games are televised now.

anybody else follow baseball rumors or are seamheads? im excited for the new season already. @Jonnybegood ? are the yankees going to sign machado? I hear the reds may be looking to trade for sonny gray. and when was the last time the yankees ever traded away a good young player anyways?? it seems like they always get the better end of the deal even though they make a trade lke every season

anybody else @TheBest how the rockies looking? anybody else

Rockies really want to keep their players. I don’t really watch them much.

Reds totally won that trade. Kemp is average and in twilight of his career but getting Puig and Wood should provide a boost. And cinci hardly gave up anything.
Will you be playing in fantasy baseball?

I don’t play fantasy baseball no. it takes up too much time I think. I just like to analyze the box score mostly.

the thing about this trade though is the reds now have 4 corner outfielders, all above average with the bat. somebody is going to get traded. probably jessie winker as he has the most trade value. he’s a real nice offensive player. on base machine, his power numbers project him for only 15-20 home runs per year which is why I can live without him. and his defense is below average in left. they still need a centerfielder who can ops 700+ and play good defense and maybe another pitcher and they will be contenders.

this offense will be fun to watch with billy Hamilton’s 600 ops bat out of the lineup. this team could really mash like they haven’t done since they had sean casey and adam dunn etc. personally I like the team going for offense it plays to their strength. pitching will always be troublesome for them.
