well I subscribed to mlb.tv again this season but didn’t watch many games, I listened to the Cincinnati reds games on radio early in the season, but eventually got bored with that and stopped. so mostly I just checked the box scores each day after the game.
the reds were more competitive this season, but ended up with a losing record again. I think they had the most 1 run losses in baseball this season. so they were in most games. most of that can be chalked up to their poor bullpen and poor offense. I expected the bullpen to be good, but some guys had down years.
if they want to be good next season, they will have to improve the offense and the bullpen, the starting pitching turned out to better than anticipated and should be solid next year if they don’t suffer any injuries.
I guess in the playoffs, I will be rooting for the yankees. or the astros. if you can’t beat em join em the saying goes.
will not renew my mlb.tv subscription next year and will save $120 bucks. but really I have nothing to do most days, so I will still probably watch some games on tv.
I really like micheal Brantley. I remember when he was in the minor leagues, I was on message boards proposing for the reds to trade for him. he has a lot of injuries though, when he’s healthy he’s really good. and verlander is a timeless wonder. and how can you not like little jose altuve and all the others? they are dominant with their 1,2 pitching punch and that offense.
haha yeah same here for the reds. we picked up freddy galvis from the blue jays this year off waivers, I think he might be the starting shortstop for us next year. he could probably hit 20-25 hr’s in the great American small park…haha.
yeah lots of bad teams in baseball this year. I think they are all tanking to get draft picks. and I can’t believe Miguel Cabrera is still playing. that guy and albert pujols have been at it forever it seems like.
just checked Cabrera’s stats. he’s only 24 or 26 home runs away from 500.
