we trade high gas bills in the winter for high electric bills in the summer…dangit.
I don’t like were I live. But, the one nice thing is my utilities are included in my rent.
We use fans. I grew up in the hot South and never had an a/c until my 20s. A fan uses pennies of electricity.
Speaking of it feels above 90f here today. I hate the heat. I feel like my blood pressure is thru the roof.
Ugh im in the south, it was 94°F today. And its not even close to being summer. Its going to be a hot, and expensive, few months.
we have ceiling fans…wouldn’t hurt to get a couple floor fans…true…that would probably really help.
Do you have a shade side of the house? One side of ours has a bunch of shade in the afternoon. We have a window fan sucking cooler air in on that side. On really hot days we put another on the sunny side to vent the hot air and create a cross breeze.
our windows and doors do not open…bad I know…
What? How? I don’t…
the windows are painted thickly all around to keep them from opening…this house is very old…the screen doors don’t have screen on them…landlord won’t replace it. doesn’t do anything but except when it’s life threatening , like when our power line got taken down by a falling tree in the back yard…
Crowbar. Seriously.
That sort of thing is illegal here.
it would tear the window up…no I can’t.
yeah i just turned my air conditioner on.
we’ll see.
Sounds like a fire hazard to me.
we have three window units…one in each bedroom and one in the living room. they don’t keep up but they do bring fresh air into the house. don’t mean to cause a ruccus.
Humidity is 55% and temp is 25 Celsius. There was rain forecast. Hope it rains.
We have a small townhouse and the electricity bill is averaged to 101 every month. We have central AC.
I have 3 window a/c units Im hoping the bill wont be as much as the gas was this winter
