Just because of the AC.
Projected bill is doubling.
still on a payment plan for last year.
It’s pretty hot here in Ontario too, we have some wind chill but it’s still hot. ![]()
HOLY CRAP THAT IS A LARGE BILL.
We pay about $240 for power/gas for a large home.
That’s like half my rent ![]()
Too much bro
Edit: I was laughing because I’m too poor… not at your bill lol
This is for low income rate it would be more for a normal income.
About 30% lower.
Gas is a separate bill.
I feel like I can suffer the heat and bring down the bill
Condolences man. They have you bent over a barrel and they’re not using lube.
Our last months bill for two people in a small apartment was $28.
@Kxev put a wet refrigerated cloth around your neck…and throw water on your face repeatedly when you feel like the salt has layered your face.
Where I live, my buddy lives like 20 miles from me, in a high crime area, he runs his air, 3 air conditioners all summer and stays cooped up in the house watching tv, unless he’s out with the fam. He said his electric bill is $30 a month. My bill was $200 per month, but I called the electric company about a list of other suppliers with lower rates, they gave me a website. I went on there, chose a plan with a lower rate. I only pay $60 a month now for electricity. California is terrible. My heart goes out to you.
That’s an insane rate!
I wouldn’t use the air either for that rate. If I did, I wouldn’t be able to eat
It is right?
Last year I tried to get federal liHEAP assistance to pay the bill was on a waiting list twice and they ran out of money.
Already my bill is 44$ a few days and I turned off the AC early yesterday
My dogs love the heat though at least they are happy.
Thanks for the cooling hack @jukebox
We’re on a payment plan for low income families but even with that we keep our house warmer than we like in the summer, and cooler than we like in winter to afford the payments.
What about window AC units? Would that be cheaper? My electric bill isnt much and we dont have central air only window AC
Im lucky, I live in volunteers of America veteran housing, and heat and air is all included in the rent also wifi. I only pay 30% of my income for rent.
Its hot also here in Ohio we run our air for the most part but?sometimes if its?nice and comfortable we will open our bedroom windows and kitchen windows to let a breeze in ifcany or if its raining and cool also when its hot and we turn the air off I start sweating almost immediately and start asking if anyone else is hot they say their comfortable so apparently Im the only one who is sweating when the?air isnt on and plus I have trouble breathing when its?hot inside or outside?always pull my hair back instead of wearing it down
