Well, woke up to our AC not working.
Of coarse it happened on a Sunday so can’t get anyone to come fix it at least until tomorrow…
I can only imagine the temperature today was something like “95 but feels like 110”
Spent the day trying to keep my daughter cool by rubbing ice cubes on her back… also trying not to lose my sh*t.
We have like 3 fans, but I can tell you it was not enough…
Now I just spent almost the last hour sitting on our porch in ecstasy as it poured down rain, along with thunder and lightning. Also while enjoying a homemade iced coffee.
I am normally terrified of the rain and thunderstorms here but after being trapped in the house all day in the heat, it felt amazing.
(My husband took the kids to the store with him awhile ago)
Might I recommend a window ac unit to help. A 12,000 btu unit cools most of my house, so that our ac condenser doesn’t need to be on. Saves on a bunch of electricity, too.
I hope your AC fix isn’t too expensive. I’m glad you got some rain to cool things off. Nobody up here has AC, but it’s Alaska, so it doesn’t get too hot here, a few days in the 80s then Summer is over! We’re at 64 right now, perfect walking weather…
oh man, do I empathize with you…when it gets over a hundred like it’s been for most of the month our little a/c wall units just can’t keep up and we are miserable during the day…so sorry.
