Horrible psychiatrist

I am dictating with my new phone so excuse my spelling problems etc. I visited a new psychiatrist yesterday and he was Spock reincarnated because he didn’t have any emotion and didn’t seem to be human at all all he did was recite things he learned in medical school about meds He was very awkward and impersonal it was hard getting through to him . I honestly thought that he had Spock’s personality without many of Spock’s good qualities I will not be going back I want to see a different psychiatrist soon but at least this one gave me some prescriptions. This whole experience has me wondering what is required to treat people with medicine which is a big ■■■■■■■ deal and shouldn’t be treated lightly people that aren’t human shouldn’t be admitted into medical school that is my honest opinion.

Sounds like he is just going through the motions. Robotic style

Exactly, it is just a job to him and that is what one review reset of him on the Internet so at least I’m not the only one

Many Doctors have shitty personalities.
I judge a psychiatrist by how professional and competent he or she is.

My psychiatrist doesn’t have the greatest personality in the world, but she knows her meds.

This is what counts.

Wave if someone is certified to alter another persons brain chemistry they should at least be half decent people

Yeah I wouldn’t want a Robot as my doctor.
Sure having good chemistry is important too.

I hate those people and won’t even talk to them. They look down their nose at you and spin your words to feel superior. They must get it from exspensive college professors. All the ones I’ve talked to act the same way. One guy I didn’t talk to and he still charged me for the session! I was ordered to go there by my school back in my 9th grade days.

I’ve seen a psychiatrist like that as well…I swear she had absolutely 0 social skills for someone who’s entire job revolves around working with people one on one…wouldn’t even make eye contact with me and just listed off symptoms, only let me give a yes or no answer with no explanation and when I tried to give more detail she made fun of me, then slapped me w a diagnosis and two prescriptions after less than 20 minutes. I was pretty furious leaving there and never saw her again.

Seriously, if you want to work in psychiatry or therapy, you NEED to be good with people.

Yes this is true. I believe this man was high functioning autistic. Nothing against autistic people but I don’t know if I’d make them a psychiatrist.

And I would’ve pegged the psychiatrist I saw as having social anxiety. Lol look at us diagnosing the doctors.

My first pdoc was a total douche like that. he couldn’t crack a smile to save his ■■■■■■■ life. I do think it is important to have some compassion in this industry. I changed pdoc’s because my old one was so rude and patronizing. he definitely acted superior.
