That was an interesting video, thanks for sharing
Don’t watch or view threads off forum. So. Medications are important regardless???
There is a mountain of evidence showing being off meds is not good for a person with psychosis/schizophrenia .
There are those who went off meds here with bad consequences . I hope no one here decides to go off meds cold turkey after looking at the video the OP posted.
Thanks mate. I don’t read off forum content and like a summary. Appreciate your work!
I find this video very interesting and it could be important in future research. Especially in giving insight into the progression of the condition
Looks like people who go off of their medications a lot and relapse a lot because of it, learn their lesson really well and learn to take their meds religiously and recover as a result. That is what happened to me. And a whole lot of other people apparently.
what a load of bollocks
It’s not a “load of bollocks” as you say. It can really happen. It happened to me.
After my last horrible stay in the hospital I swore to God never to be off my meds again and I stopped drinking. It is sheer hell for me to be locked up and scary when they start saying you might not get to go home after.
There’s not enough information presented here. Just being on antipsychotics isn’t good enough. First of all, how are they defining “recovery?” Second, what sort of treatment was given to the people not on meds? Third, did those who aren’t on meds take AP’s for some period of time before coming off of them? Did they include people who stopped their meds against the recommendation of their doctors? Are we including sza’s who may not be on the correct mood stabilizers and antidepressants needed to keep them stable?
