High protein diet

One thing I am finding very hard to do is to consume 140-150 grams of protein daily. I am going to the gym, and my trainer recommends me taking 140 grams of protein based on my weight.

Now I am drinking a protein shake daily to help build muscle.

Anyone else here doing weights and on a high protein diet?

Not weight lifting but my bariatric doctor wants me to consume more high protein foods
I purchased some eggs, tuna and high protein yogurt.

I used to lift weights and use protein powder. I don’t think I gained any muscle and I gave up. I don’t want big muscles anymore, I just want to lose weight now.

I couldn’t lose weight at all without resistance training. One way to lose weight is by gaining muscle, otherwise it is too hard on the medications to lose weight.

Ya, I’ve read that before.

I do weightlifting since almost 9 month straight now. I also consume high protein, 230g per day. I spend much money on shakes which I consume four times daily with 50g each shake. I lost fat and build up some muscles due to my weight being steady for the last 9 month.

Wow 230 grams of protein is a lot. You are doing great since you have sustained your effort for 9 months. Did you find weights effective is reducing fat? Others notice that I have lost weight, but the weighing scale isn’t showing a drastic difference. This is the part I don’t understand, the weighing scale is literally immobile for the last 2 months.

I would recommend to do cardio for loosing fat as I dont have lost much fat in 9 month, maybe 5kg. Cardio is more effective, you could do one hour of walking daily and you won’t be so exhausted as with lifting weights plus you burn calories :+1:

They say it’s 80% diet and 20% exercise that contributes to weight loss. Which means your main concern should be your eating habits, exercise is important but you can’t out exercise a bad diet

If you’re gonna eat protein, make sure it’s good quality.

I ate processed ham for years thinking it was doing me good, but the stuff is bad for you. So now I buy proper protein like bacon and full chickens and steaks.

You want the best protein

Thats a lot of protein. That can get expensive. The best thing I can recommend is to get a fly strip. Its free pickings after the initial purchase and will satisfy your hunger in no time.

Edit: With the cost of meat these days, this is really the only way to go.
