Physically I’m doing very well. Last year when I went for my blood work I weighed about 171lbs this time when I went I was about 155lbs the leanest and slimest I’ve ever been. Im not over weight and have cleaned up most of my diet. Im just worried about the high prolactin levels. Next time I see my psychiatrist Im going to ask her to lower the dose of my injection and see how it goes. Hopefully I don’t lose my mind.
I was on invega sustenna for a year and I then switched to abilify. My prolactin levels were high so I switched. I’ve been on abilify ( 300 mg) for 2 years now. My prolactin went to normal. I lost 15 pounds, and all blood tests are great so far. I have luckily had no side effects so far.

I’m happy to hear that. The only problem I have with these medications is that a lot of it is trial and error. I could do what you have done but then I might experience some new side effects or the medication might not work as well as Invega has. I recently just stopped taking my antidepressant Wellbutrin and so far Im doing pretty good.
My next step is to get off my sleep medication and get back to sleeping naturally which will leave me with only 1 medication that I would have to manage and maintain. What scares me about this illness are the delusions that can take over the mind and ruin the entire process of recovery. It’s taken me a little over 3 years to get to this point in life and I want to continue to progress and Im scared that if I switch medications I might have to start all over again which is really tough to do.
Just got back from the Dr and he said my high prolactin doesn’t affect my health. He said not to worry.

Because of high prolactin I have ED, so p doctor now prescribed me viagra tablets. Does it helps in sex or not.

Oh I dont have that, my sex drive is actually a bit high, was too high on Abilify and off meds. How high is your prolactin? Mine was around 35. Max normal value was 17.

It is double like 40. Don’t you have low sex drive now on tablets that you are taking. Its all because of high prolactin.

No but I had a very high sex drive before being on meds. I am on 6mg Risperdal now.

If Viagra doesn’t work, you can ask to change to an antipsychotic that doesn’t increase prolactin. Afaik Invega, Risperdal and Amisulpride all increase prolactin.
Most of schizophrenics have sex problem after medication. I am on Amulspride tablets. Ablify don’t suite me because it increases risk of bad habits.
