High Prolactin Levels

I take Invega Sustenna and my prolactin level was 180 the last time I was tested. It should be around 30. My psych doc added 5 mg of Abilify to see if this would lower it. My testerone levels were elevated too and I’m female. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, what did you do?

Invega is notorious for that kind of thing. Hope the abilify resolves it.

I had this on Amisulpride

The 5mg Abilify trick didn’t work

My levels were the same as a pregnant woman on their third trimester

But was told the benefit out weighed the risk

Would have rather I was part of that decision

How do you fix high prolactin levels?

Medications. Oral medications known as dopamine agonists are generally used to treat a prolactinoma. These drugs mimic the effects of dopamine — the brain chemical that controls how much prolactin is made. Dopamine agonists can decrease the production of prolactin and shrink the size of the tumor.

I had such high prolactin levels on Invega Sustenna that I started lactating. My period also stopped and didn’t return till 5 years after stopping Invega

Mine is super high too Abilify might work for me too @alasangel
