High prevalence of low testosterone levels in male patients with schizophrenia

I didn´t know low testosterone was a negative symptom!

Are you sure it is not the meds?

Do you want an anecdote? I am schizophrenic and currently on Testosterone Replacement Therapy.

By the way, Mrs. Jayster is not too happy about it. She says I’m aggressive.

I was lucky enough to hook up with a neurologist who had written a book on the topic of depression and men with head injury. His research showed that nearly 100% of men with head injury, had low levels of testosterone. Since being on the shot, I’m much less prone to depression, bounce back faster, and don’t go as deep

I’ve been using a text to speech mp3 app to create positive pleasure affirmations tapes and I play them on loop while pleasuring myself sexually. Been doing that for about two months now and my sex drive and interest in the opposite sex has gone up dramatically as a result. So what they say is probably true, sex is mostly in the mind.

Yeah i got a feeling low testosterone is the meds. These scientific studied need to compare schizophrenics on meds vs schizos off.meds to know which is causing it. Otherwise its not scientific.

Where do you find schizophrenics not on medicine?

I know a few. I got a coworker who told me he hears voices and stuff, he told me about how he was prescribed risperidone but decided not to take it cause he heard stories of.it causing gynoclamastia. There was youtuber b4 called fabio cortez, he was also schizo but didnt take meds cause said he dosnt like how it makes him feel. I used to talk to him, his dad was strongly against psychiatric drugs so he didnt force him on meds. But yeah there are schizos out there not on meds. But there also not really in the system. If they were they would be on meds i guess lol.

I believe my friend Doug is most definitely schizophrenic, but he’s never been diagnosed. He truly believes he’s been abducted by aliens on six different occasions, and sometimes sleeps in the Attic chained to the bed.

Knowing him, he would just laugh it off and refuse to take the meds. But he’s very high functioning, works like a horse, raised two kids and would give you the shirt off his back

You want to find schizophrenics not on meds for a trial? And then you want them to behave for your research? Good luck

Yeah idk, i dont think schizos off meds act as crazy as the media stereotypes them to be.

The story above of having a friend he thinks is schizo and he sometimes sleeps in the attic with chains sounds pretty fake.

Im just saying, how do we know if its the meds or if its the illness if the people were testing are on antipsychotics? Why do they claim its the schizophrenia causing it but not the medications.

Who chains him to the bed? Are you just making this up?

maybe not axe murders but symptoms cause massive problems, i can’t function without meds, i get delusional and paranoid, everybody has their own different symptoms when not medicated, The brain doesnt seem to want to act coherently.

btw are you mentally ill? bc if you are you’d know what I’m talking about

Also bc i was very unwell, even before meds i had a low libido and it was stress and anxiety that killed it for me, and worry,

Well I have Sz and my testosterone was low when I was on Risperidone. I’m on Aripiprazole (Abilify) now, and my sexual functioning is better, though not like it was.
