Here we go again

Reducing my AP with my doctor’s supervision.

I’m only taking 1 mg of risperidone, but I want to go as slow as possible because withdrawal can destabilize me.

I’ve been taking .75 mg every other day and the trouble sleeping and anxiety started immediately.

I’m using propranolol during the day to help with anxiety and have the option of using hydroxyzine or gabapentin for insomnia. I also have a frozen shoulder so have a muscle relaxer as well.

I’m going to keep taking my vitamin D but doing some research about what else I can take to help with withdrawal.

My biggest red flags are obsessive thinking, paranoia, anxiety, and insomnia. Please let me know if I start posting anything that seems off.

I’m doing this because I want to lose the 50 pounds I’ve gained in the past year and because I have had success going off APs in the past. Most recently I went back on some risperidone because of the stress of my dad dying, getting a hysterectomy, moving out of my house and to a different state, and a separation from my husband. I’m hoping now that things have settled down I can come off again.

That’s the long and the short of it.

Best of luck @Gamera
I also want to reduce my daily risperidone dose from 3mg to 2mg

Sending hugs and good vibes @Gamera. Hope this helps.

When I stopped my Olanzapine I had a kind of boost of mood in the beginning, but in the long run I was slowly getting worse so take care if the symptoms sneak in on you slowly.

Now I’m on Cariprazine and sort of getting back. Good luck.
