I ve got the diagnosis “hebephrenic schizophrenia F20.1”
but I have managed to write lyrics , poetry, blogs, ebooks and I design iq tests (creating my own)
How common is this that hebephrenic schizophrenics can have these talents?
I do suffer problem with my cognitive, and my symptoms are more with positive, like paranoia and magical thinking, believing I’m angel or alien, and that my behavior is bizarre and childish
I know that I am very very intelligent, but some people will think that I’m stupid.
i also act more emotional than rational, and I am highly empathic

The diagnosis is usually a description of an interpretation of the type of symptoms you would have experienced around the first observation, from therein on - it could change but generally the idea of having schizophrenia of any kind won’t really change in my understanding.
Sounds like you’re doing well despite the label though and that’s what matters!

Well. I ve had 11 treatment periods at a psychiatric hospital before they sent me to a criminal hospital where I was 5 years and 3 months after that I was released and took my meds accordingly. reason why I always relapsed was because I quit the meds I had. so I do not have a light schizophrenia. the diagnosis has been the same over all these years

I see, makes sense. Yeah, I used to always stop meds too - I’ve been in hospital 5 to 7 times I think. All inside 10 years, it was chaotic. I’m glad I’m compliant with the medicine now though. Hopefully a better future awaits and less hospitalisations!
I do OK, as a senior citizen of the high IQ world. Would very likely do better with meds for the probable ADHD-I. However at nearly 70 I don’t see the point of pressing for an assessment.
