It is a bit depressing and gritty. Mark Ruffalo did great acting job I think. I just watched the first episode.

Yes it is probably great. The writer was a creative writing teacher for years.
I envy the writer. This is in a lot of ways the male version of my story. He is Italian, Catholic, has religious delusions. He is so far gone though with definite mental deficits. The effect it is having on me is gratitude. Things could be worse.
