I think getting schizophrenia diagnosis doesnt change anything, you can call it even cyberpsychosis but its still just worst misery what you can get emotionally and many times leading to delusional acting as you suffer.
It means a big difference, as you can then get meds.
It got me access to better benefits and better medications back in the day. As to the misery, it’s your job to change that because that’s something a label can’t do.
My story is so, im now 29 and i got first psychosis diagnosis at age of 16. I struggled without meds for like to my 21 age because my mother is psychologist and against my mental illness (Not anymore) Now i got really much help from society and are using 6 different meds, 3 if needed and 3 always. Im also getting paid almost 1400 euros everymonth as being schizophrenic in good country as Finland is. But as i dont hallucinate or hear voices or anything, i think schizophrenia diagnosis dont treat my needs as i was possible to go without meds for 5 years from hardest struggle to 21
s,
Over all i can say that schizophrenia diagnosis is just now the last word for my mental illness as i have had 10 different psychosis diagnosis and 10 other psychiatric diagnosis from anxiety disorders to traumatic stress disorders. Just wondering how im now just the guy with schizophrenia and all other struggle was just what it was.
Hi @schizowitch … welcome to the beginning of the journey to recovery. It starts with acceptance of where you are and a diagnosis is a very big part of that. Once diagnosed you can be prescribed anti-psychotic meds which (for a lot of people) should reduce and maybe eliminate psychotic symptoms (delusions and hallucinations). That’s the first step. Welcome to the road to recovery.
