First Diagnosis?

Has anyone here had a different diagnosis in the past before their present one? I ask because I feel like my diagnosis is changing.

Yes, previously schizophrenia then schizoaffective then personality disorder nos.

I was originally diagnosed with depression with psychosis or psychotic tendencies. Now they’ve got diagnosed with schizophrenia. It’s definitely possible for your diagnosis to change, talk to your pdoc about it. They’ll be able to understand you better and help you understand yourself better if you mention a possible diagnosis change!

I started out with depression dx during adolescence, then sz in early twenties.

Ten years later I was dx’d PTSD with dissociative features. That doctor did not mention sz, so I assume the dx changed…

Mine was nonspecific psychotic disorder and anxiety disorder. Now it’s psychotic depression and ptsd.

Major depressive disorder and ptsd. Now it’s major depressive disorder with psychotic features.

Mine has evolved like a pokemon. It started out as depression, then evolved into bipolar disorder. Then I gave it a psychosis stone and it evolved into schizoaffective.

I was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and was treated for it the last four years. Yesterday i went to a pdoc and she gave me a printout that says that i have “Unspecified psychosis not due to a substance or known physiological condition”.

I firmly believe that people benefit from meds and those that do should keep taking them.

But how can they keep changing the Dx?

But about the different meds its my crazy opinion that all that benefits the pharmaceutical companies,I mean its a fact that nobody has figured out the human brain yet so how can they keep pumping it full of different chemicals in confidence of making a positive change?

Definitely reconsider going off meds before a proper consultation.

I went to a doc once early in the morning for a emergency type thing and there was quite a few people there also for a emergency because they went off the meds that their brains were dependent on.

i was schizoaffective bipolr type then diagnosed paranoid schizophrenia

First it was paranoid sz, then it went to schizoaffective, now we’re looking into bipolar with psychotic features, but it’s likely that it stays schizoaffective.

I started out with major depression with psychotic features. Then they tacked on schizoid personality disorder. Then they changed my dx to schizophrenia. Then they tacked on avoidant personality disorder. Then they dx’ed me sz.

They originally diagnosed me with Bipolar then schizoaffective, then finally sz

Depression then BPD (misdiagnosis) then bipolar II (possible misdiagnosis) then schizophrenia.

My diagnosis started as delusional dirorder (postpartum), then every time the took me off meds I’d relapse within 6 months. Second diagnosis was Psychotic NOS, then either delusional disorder or intermittent psychosis. Finally in 2014 after a decade they gave me the schizophrenia diagnosis.
