Haven't Slept in 24 Hours

I could feel angry spirits attacking my mind and face. I dont feel safe in my bed anymore.

I’m fine now but I’m totally exhausted and I’m at work all day. I’m afraid I’m headed towards another episode.

Pdoc appointment on Wednesday, fingers crossed I make it there

Can you take a day off from work? And get some sleep…

Do you have any sleep aids that you can take tonight to help you? If I go more than three days without sleep, I always end up back in the hospital. So I take Benadryl to help me get to sleep when I need to.

Yeah, I don’t recommend sleep deprivation like that. One time I made it to 36 hours and started seeing shadows moving that weren’t supposed to be moving. Decided it was time to sleep.

I hope you have some kind of sleep aids that can help you out. It can be hard to just get sleep sometimes. I know sometimes, if I stay up long enough, I stop being tired, which is a problem. I try not to let myself stay up to the point that the tiredness dissipates and I can’t sleep or don’t want to because I’m no longer tired.

Do you have any melatonin? I find that keeping a regular schedule and having a dose of melatonin half an hour before I hit the sack helps me get into the habit of falling asleep. A good sleep habit will help overcome symptoms, you’ll learn to sleep in spite of them once your routine gets established. I recommend melatonin as a good way to get that rolling. There are also sleeping pills, but I don’t like having too many of those in the house in case I go sideways – I’ve attempted suicide with them before so I avoid them now.

So far I seem to be doing okay, but work is keeping my mind focused. Once I’m off, I’m gonna pop my headphones in and not let my mind wander

Update: made it home, melatonin in hand. Gonna eat late dinner, maybe go for a jog, get a good night’s sleep.

Thanks guys!! <3

Exercise right before bed helps some people feel tired, but it makes it harder for me to fall asleep.

I find music or white noise helps me sleep easier

@Ninjastar it definitely depends on the day. Atm I’m pretty wired, need to let off some steam.

@Noise white noise usually does it for me. Rain sounds = sleepy Smokes

If you don’t have a blue light filter on your computer/phone, either stop using the device at least an hour before bed, or download a filter and use it. Screen light definitely interferes with the sleep process.

Bed-time phone use is actually something I really need to work on  bad habit I picked up from trying to cope

If you’re on Android, Twilight is a really good blue light filter app! It comes on gradually based on when the sun rises and sets in your location.
