Have you had any successes in your life

I would say I had when I lived in my auto in Miami and in the middle of Miami’s hot night I set up one operation in Europe using coin telephones and free Internet services. I had not been in that part of Europe in one decade. That’s already long time ago.

My life is marked by a lack of accomplishment. The game is not up yet, though.

Making friends with my neighbors. Got to lend them some baking supplies which felt good. Going to their daughters birthday party tommarow. Hopefully that will go well. Have another close friend turned into confidant. My goal is to make it without trying to win my mothers approval. Which I never will. I could be a movie star and I still would. So I am having some success building a support network

Yeah, I had a lot of success up until I caught a nasty case of schizophrenia. I was an eagle scout, was a class superlative, went to college on full scholarship, graduated with an engineering degree with high honors, advanced pretty far in my career. Had a wife and a happy home.

All gone now.

Apart from a large SSDI check I think I would have been happier if I had come down with it when I was 16 before I accomplished any of that. Now I look back at what I accomplished and I feel bitter and angry whenever I do.

Every time I climb a flight of steps I get kicked right back down. Its really disheartening. I’m at the point where I am just going to stop trying to resist the flow and just go with it. Sit on the couch eating oreos non stop till I get diabetes and die.

scratch the oreos. I am going to make a double sized bowl of oatmeal made with whole milk, maple syrup, and a little brown sugar.

What kind of operation did you set up on a hot Miami night? What was the purpose of the operation  ?

When I read your posts about Miami, I await some inspiring news! Similar to when you discussed the elderly Jewish gentleman who discussed politics with you.

I realize I am not going to impress you or anyone else with my few success stories. Still they mean a big deal in this frame I carry around.

I am 41-year-old clean looking, trimmed to the skin clean-cut fingernail keying, often calm (when not provoked) appearing, cute dork internet streaming scanning chick. For the last decade, I have had some calm, relaxing periods in my life. One decade out of four is not bad; I’ll take it. That is my first success submission.

The one success submission that really grabs my own attention is the fact that yes, I did use a cannondale mountain bike as a way to commute up until my acid base system went out of wack. When I was a homeless teen, I saw a female with summertime tresses ride her bike at sunset down a major city street. She was a distant mentor to me at that time. She looked full of life and I kept that memory as a way to lead myself to perform the same activity. More than a couple of decades later, I did.

Wherever I work, state hospitals, long term nursing centers, folks’ homes, I earn their respect and they work with me to help better serve them. Most often I have worked directly with the geriatric population (now those diagnosed with autism); whether an individual has to face isolation or physical suffering, I have been there for them, along with others, to alleviate their stress. I consider my performance at work to be a success story.

When I worked at Sears unloading trucks I was considered one of the best workers on our 7 man crew. I worked my ass off and I was getting complements on my good work on a weekly basis from my supervisor and some of the salespeople and even our security guards. My co-workers were a bunch of young guys who thought they were tough. Maybe they were. They didn’t give me compliments but they knew how good I was. We had about 35 employees at the store and each month the managers gathered everybody together for a meeting and part of the meeting was giving out a worker-of-the-month award. Whoever won got their picture up on a wall above the time clock so everybody could see it when they punched in or out. There was also a ten-dollar gift certificate prize. I won it once. It was very satisfying. My boss also gave me a raise in my paycheck so I was making more money than my co-workers but we were doing the same job. I was just doing it better. Now that really pissed them off.

I earned two bachelors degrees one in Elementary Education(taught 4th grade for 13 yrs) and one in Psychology- worked as a case manager and psychology student therapist while persuing my Masters…was kicked out of the masters for getting a B-. I raised my daughter who is 22 now by myself while going to school full time, and working full time. I also worked in a major insurance company as an analyst…it was then that I had my breakdown.

I am not going to go to details, but the ultimate purpose of this operation was to enable a human life to live on this earth as long as possible. It is quite complicated.

Thanks for the feedback.

You remind me of a young man whose life ended early. He used to talk for hours on the phone with others about math formulas. That was his life.

I am also a strong believer of life extension programs, in this case I mean extending a human life by initiating and taking specific acts and steps so that a person can live longer, I have had one success in this area too, nine years ago I designed and implemented this type of the life extension program for my father and he still lives although many of his friends have died. In the military they try to extend the life cycle of weapons systems using these life extension programs.

I drove across the country from the west coast to the east coast-just me and my cat. ( That beautiful cat friend has since passed away from cancer.) I also helped write a new personnel evaluation “form” for a company that I worked for. I had introduced the fact to my manager that the personnel evaluation was seriously lacking and of course I was included on the committee. When I returned to the company after a five year “hiatus” they had “ditched” the “form” and were again using something very seriously lacking.
