Have you had an experience of med wearing off?

And is there any scientific explanation?

It happened a lot of times in my medication history :woman_shrugging:

Your body wants homeostasis, and it might change your physiology over time to negate what the drug is doing to you, even if the effect is helpful.

Zoloft no longer works for me although I still take it. When I am done with my clinical trial I am going to try something else.

Hmm i have to google this.

Same happened to me after years of Zoloft. Then i went to Wellbutrin.

How is Wellbutrin? My husband started taking it for depression and trying to quit smoking. He started seeing things.

Maybe he needs to lower the dose. I heard that is possible that AD’s can induce psychosis…that’s why it should be monitored by pdoc.

He already switched to another one. He is giving it a month to see if it works before he asks to raise the dose since he hasn’t had any side effects.

@Sarad me too! I’m on a bunch of stuff in addition to the wellbutrin. But at least less SE than zoloft

I was most stable in the past on Zoloft with seroquel and concerta. However after a few years it wore off and didn’t work anymore.

Instead of upping my dose they changed my medication entirely, and I haven’t found a good combination since.

I was fairly stable on invega for about a year then it crapped out on me.

I’m on geodon now and it’s fantastic. I really hope it doesn’t wear off / I build a tolerance for it.

Good luck finding the right med xo

Yeah, when I was ordered to go off meds for two days I had the experience of my meds wearing off and it was not pretty. I got full blown psychotic. And I didn’t sleep for thirty six hours.

My doc always ‘play’ with dose to avoid wear off

I used to be on qutiapine and after years and years of being on it the dose did have to keep being increased.
