I think my meds got me high (?)

That’s honestly the best way I can think to describe it but I’ve never BEEN high but I just went through hours of like…I don’t know…feeling bliss mixed with just surreal trippiness…being so out of it…it must’ve been geodon because I haven’t had Wellbutrin since this morning but that “high” kicked in like an hour or so after I took the increased geodon dose. I seriously have no idea what the heck that was. It’s calming down now I think. Has anyone else experienced that?! I really can’t find words.

I don’t really know what’s going on. This has certainly been a wild combo for me :eyes::eyes:

This sounds promising, what dose are you on now if you don’t mind me asking?

Also my pupils are still huge and they are shrinking and growing still.

I’m now on 40 mg twice a day so 80 mg. I figured after 30 days w no improvement on 40 mg a day it was time to go up.

Why does that sound promising?

Well you said you didn’t notice any effect whatsoever on the lower dose. It sounds like it might be doing something now.

Yes I am just not sure if it’s doing anything good :disappointed: It did do stuff when I was on 40 mg a day. I suddenly felt full of energy and didn’t need sleep (at night) and was really motivated out of nowhere. But positive symptoms weren’t effected and may actually got worse thought hat was probably related to the sleep stuff.

Don’t be so pessimistic ! Give it a while.

Yeah I guess I am just very nervous with all the bad experiences I’ve had. This wasn’t a bad experience just a very very strange one. So I’ll stick with it.

It seems like geodon affects me very powerfully but in a really different way than the other APs I’ve been on  like it’s completely different. I’m wondering why that is, is its mechanism very different?

It could be symptoms of psychosis or hypomania that are making you feel high and dilating your pupils. You should take notice of when it happens, if it keeps happening.

I will make sure to tell my prescriber and see what she thinks. Though I am sure she will not have heard of it as always because I seem to get very weird reactions to meds.

It could be the increased dose.
I would give it some more time.
Your body needs to adjust to it.
Hang in there @Anna.

Yeah it’s definitely the geodon doing it. Took my second dose a while ago and I’m feeling it again. Aghhhh

Yeah i had that when double dose

I’m glad you’re feeling better. I can get a kind of manic feeling by skipping my med’s. It feels good for a little while, but then it goes bad on me. It usually ends with a trip to the hospital. I tried getting off my med’s not too long ago because I thought I was going to have to go back out on the street and make my way out there. I could see myself getting in trouble because I was off my med’s. I was noticing some of the old danger signals that told me I had to get back on my med’s.

Oh good I’m not alone lol. I wonder why it does that…I’m now hesitant to take my dose this morning as I didn’t get any studying done yesterday because of it :weary:

Geodon is similar to risperidone but with a mild antidepressant effect.
You have been ok on risperidone and sertraline, maybe you just need to get used to Geodon and get the dose right. I hope the Geodon doesn’t increase your prolactin as much as the risperidone.

I read about that and I read geodon has a significant less effect on prolactin than risperidone, risperidone has the largest effect of all the APs so yeah I hope it doesn’t do anything either.

I’m wondering if it has AD properties if I even need to be on Wellbutrin too. But honestly I wouldn’t mind staying on it anyways as an add on since it’s improving my sexual functioning!

Yay for sexual functioning!
