Have you ever quit a job without giving notice?

I quit working in a nursing home as a care assistant years ago. Utterly took the piss. Was doing 8am - 8pm with an hour off and then going back todo a night shift at 9pm to 8am to the following morning.

Did this for 4 days straight - and when asked for a day off, got rudely told no cos they were short staffed. Aside from being ruddy illegal doing those sort of hours - i was dead on my feet.

There was no way i could continue to give proper care to the residents.

Place was well below standard. Their idea of a sluice was refuse black bins filled with bleach. Disgusting.

I went to work for an agency in the end. Money was double - and i could choose my own hours.

This was years ago - and there is no way you can hop into another job these days. But i had had enough.

I never got outta bed for 3 days after that.

I’ve never given notice

I quit twice. once rather spectacularly!

Been fired twice.

I left a job I had been at for 2.5 years without notice.

Was in the depths of psychosis, and didn’t show up for work. Went to the hospital instead.

Another time, I walked in and gave an employer my “Two Week’s Notice” but told them it was effective immediately.

This was while I was unmedicated, and I was convinced my boss and several colleagues were up to shady shiiz… Couldn’t handle it anymore so I peaced.
