And didn’t pick up your last pay check? I did that for more than three jobs because I walked out on them
I was never paid in check. Money was directly deposited in my bank account.
2 jobs I had were cash though. I know its illegal but they paid better as I didn’t have to pay taxes.
In Belgium it’s mandatory to be paid in a checking account. To avoid people moonlight.
When I left subway I gave my 2 weeks notice and my boss refused to pay me for those last 2 weeks I worked. I had to threaten him with court for him to finally pay me for those 60 hours
Whats ppl moonlight?
Work a job without paying taxes illegally.
I walked out after one week at a call center. The bosses were not to my liking, or anyone elses I expect. For example they mocked on a guy in front of everyone for being 1 minute late back from a cigarette break. I was the first one to up and leave in the middle of training.
I never expected them to pay me for that week, but they did.
I walked out of McDonald’s, after working for 6 months. They treated me like garbage, in general, and also treated me like garbage for having type 1 diabetes. (I got low blood sugar, often, and they were so mean to me about it.)
I also didn’t show up for work, at Panda Express, after working there for 1 year. The new manager was horrible to me, so I just quit by not showing up. I had a second job, at the time, so I was OK, financially. Mostly.
Yes I have.
Few times.
I quit all my jobs on good terms. I gave them 2 weeks notice and collected my last paycheck. One job said a 2 weeks notice wasn’t necessary so I quit that day, but still on good terms and still got my last paycheck.
I quit all my jobs myself. Never been fired.
I have been fired once and walked out of several jobs before the 3 months probation period ended. By law you get cut off social security for some time in some countries.
No, but I got fired and they didn’t pay me for three days training. I took the owner to labor court and they ruled in my favor and they had to pay me a $100. I guess they were cheating all the guys they trained. But the judge said a business has to pay their employees when they’re training them.
Yeah I’ve honestly never heard of people getting paid in cash IRL. Unless we’re talking illegal stuff.
But I’d never walk out on a pay check either way lol.
No I never quit a job without getting a check. My last employer mailed it to me. They didn’t want me coming in to get it.
all told, I’ve quit many jobs, at least 7. and I always collected
I quit my previous job. It was super stressful and management kept telling me I wasn’t good enough and needed to do better, I was replaceable, and they were using loopholes in the rules to not offer me a permanent contract (they extended me for a month at a time).
One day I snapped and told my manager I would finish my shift and not come back. Half an hour later he pulled me into a meeting with him, HR, and some higher-ups. They begged me to stay and told me I was vital and needed.
Deep down I knew the department would crumble if I wasn’t there to carry that weight, but it angered me even more that they knew, and still treated me the way they had done.
So I left.
