what is/was it like?
There was someone here who used to take it and maybe still does.
They found it pretty good.
For me it went fine for a year and a half, now it’s starting to make it periodically harder and harder to sleep and concentrate and side effects pop up every now and then…
It was good, high effectiveness, low side effects. The withdrawals were very difficult though. I felt like I drank poison for about a week, I could not get out of bed.
I took it for about 18 months
In the end it was making me feel very rough after taking it
Became too much to cope with so I stoppped taking it
Was good, but unfortunately I didn’t tolerate it
I have been taking it for almost 3 weeks with no issues.
Causes intense anxiety for me and my blood pressure spikes.
I was on it, it was good for my mood. No side effects.
Warning dont go on Latuda for more than a decade. I never tried it but it is build on its sister drug Ziprasidone. I quit Ziprasidone 20 month ago after 20 years of usage. Quitting Ziprasidone gave me rebound Insomnia. I feel so much better now where I sleep much better. I had to get uppered with 250 mg qutiapine but my mind is still hurt by the Ziprasidone. So if you have had succes on Latuda for some years then you must prepare for life long treatment for most of you.
The warning was not send to cause offence by any latuda users but only a personal point of view from me.
iam on lurasidone (latuda) and i am scared by your reply. tell us more about you experience with latuda.
I feel it is the sedating effects of some AP’s that the brain becomes acclimated to, and requires some adjustment time when the medication is stopped. Similar to Olanzapine withdrawal.
I have no choice but to take a more sedating medicine, because of the effects the activating ones do to me. There are millions of us, @MIDO, so I would not worry at all.
Hell yeah and it sucked . I hope it helps ya if you’re taking it.
Yes, I was on it for sometime.
Don’t remember why I stopped it.
It’s very good, got both minimal weight gain and side effects.
I lasted 10 days before I developed chestpain issues. Had to stop and go back on olanzapine.
It feels terrible for a few hours after i take it. I like it because it gives me a buzz for some reason but it can also make your temper increase. I might get back on it with some xanax one day but for now im doing good on my risperdal and zyprexa
I was on it for a few months. For some reason in my case, it made me super sleepy all the time. I’d sleep like 14 hours at night and also nap a couple times during the day for a couple hours at the time. Was only awake for a handful of hours each day lol. Couldnt get anything done. I hear its a very different effect for most others though.
I took it for just a few days, stopped because I got this weird restless feeling, and the day I decided to stop was because my neck tensed up, very stiff and uncomfortable, apparently a side effect for some people. Didn’t notice any benefits besides reduction in suicidal ideation.
I had no problem coming off it, no sleep issues of any kind.
I’ve been taking it for about 4 years. My pdoc hadn’t heard of it but I requested to have it as I hated what I was taking at the time because it was so sedating. I really like the drug it works well for me.
For me it does that too if I go over a certain amount of sleep, say if I reach 9 hours I get ultra sleepy and sleep like crazy 14+ hours, though it’s very rare for me, generally I get insomnia, and by generally I mean almost always. To me it feels like it makes it hard to make transitions throughout the nervous system, both central and peripheral, so it either makes it very hard to fall asleep or to wake up, very hard with it to strike a balance and for things to stay that way long term sleep-wise, especially if there aren’t outside factors forcing your sleep to a limited range.
