I have some unfinished business with my friend, so I’ll have to call him. I bought my friend’s 2000 Ford Explorer for what he wanted for it. The guy at the used car dealership referred him to a salvage yard. They wouldn’t give him what he wanted, so he refused to sell it. It runs, so I’m going to donate it to a church that takes old vehicles. I’ll need him to drive the Explorer to the church while I follow in my car.
What is ghosting?
It’s more than just ignoring someone. It’s when you decide you don’t want to talk to them ever again, but instead of telling them that, you just stop replying to any of their messages and hope they stop trying to talk to you.

I’ve done it to guys that have harassed me. Does that still count as ghosting, though?
I’ve done something like this, but it’s from anxiety. Text, email, private messages - all of them stress me out and make me very anxious and avoidant.
People who know me well enough understand this about me (which is different than knowing it - plenty of people know it but don’t believe it and still take it very personally) but it’s a hindrance to getting to know me well enough to understand it.
Anyway, it’s not ghosting for the reasons people assume, but it’s hard to tell that from the other side.

I have been guilty of this and I have had it done to me a lot as well to the point that there is no one left I can call a friend.
I lost a lot of contact with some people because I was psychotic for about 9 months before I was diagnosed. That basically ruined many of my relationships as I was behaving badly. But it’s a two way street as they say.
This one person who I was best friends 5 years I realised I was the one always keeping in contact and then I got paranoid that he was my enemy so I stopped calling and he has never picked up the phone since. It’s a shame as we used to do a lot together.

I talked to someone who I thought was a friend. We even exchanged presents. He is from another country and he said he might visit me. I guess that won’t happen. He has signed in two or maybe three times on fb messenger where we talked but never messaged me. I was worried about him for a bit and messaged him there and other platforms to see if he’s ok but no reply. Oh well. I just need to get over it now.

yeah @Kuro I guess we don’t always know a person’s reason why. like scottb said he was paranoid at the time. that’s why i’m kind of ghostimg someone now. don’t think our texting is healthy for each other but I have told him that numerous times before. so maybe it is a little paranoia on my part.
