Personally never, but I am curious. How was the experience? Did you understand what you typing or saying? Could relatives understand you?
I sent my x-gf some texts and when I came to my senses it was all gibberish. It was like I tried to explain something but all that came out was bits and pieces.
Yes. I was aware of it though. When I was in the psychiatric unit I wanted to ask the dr a question. I remember when I did garbage came out my mouth. It was very weird and not what I intended.
No. Just heard someone else.
I’ve also had it where when people are talking around me nothing makes sense. It sounds like a foreign language to me. Very strange. Only ever happened when very unwell.
Theres different types and causes of word salad
my word salad was from the idea i was having being gobbledygook not from an inability to use grammar, or streaming consciousness etc.
I don’t understand this thread
What does salad mean ?
No never 151515
Yes once or twice early on, i screamed random words at people. Good ol memories
I’ve had it and was aware gibberish was coming out of my mouth. I couldn’t get the words out. It was very frustrating
@An_the-c-ology
unintelligible, extremely disorganized speech or writing manifested as a symptom of a mental disorder (such as schizophrenia)
It’s also defined this way:
string of empty, incoherent, unintelligible, or nonsensical words or comments
No I don’t think so
Yes I had it really bad
What I don’t understand is how I could think we were having a reciprocal conversation yet I made no sense to them
Did anyone else have it and think you were talking normally?
In a way i was indifferent to whether it made sense. I guess I knew it, but it is an uninhibited state.
Yes. It only happens when I’m not on meds. I’m usually aware of it, I usually try to correct myself but sometimes my brain just won’t do the words I need it to.
No…
But I’ve happened to word salad.
In the height of being unwell, apparently I have. I have no recollection of it or knowledge, but my wife said it was one of the most strangest things she’d heard.
When I try to talk some words come out in the wrong order then I try to fix it in the middle of the sentence by switching to a different grammar and everything gets worse. Daily struggle. It’s better when talking to close once. Writing works best.
Bad arm coordination imo
No, not word salad but sometimes I’m lost in details or I’m haul off too widely.
