Bariatric surgery? I’ve been in weight management but am still gaining (a total of 15 lbs since starting). I’ve cut calories, am eating better, and am up and moving more, but I’m still gaining. I sometimes get insatiably hungry, usually at night. I’ve put healthy treats in my bedroom, like grapes and salad mix (I have a mini fridge). I don’t like soda, and I usually drink just water. And still I gain. I am at an extremely unhealthy BMI. If anyone has had the surgery, how did it go? At first, I was against it, but I cannot get my knee surgery done without weight loss, and I cannot lose weight on my meds. Because I can’t lose the weight and am stable on the regular dose of my meds, I’m stuck. I need the knee surgery to move, but the weight won’t budge (probably exacerbated by prohibition of movement).
Aren’t you going to try all the new weight loss jabs now available first?
One of my aunts had a surgery where they shrunk her stomach. She lost a lot of weight. She is still skinnier than she used to be but has gained a bit of it back.
My mom has a gastric sleeve.
It was day surgery.
You have restrictions, but still have to work to lose weight.
My mom lost a lot of weight,
But a woman she worked with got the same surgery around the same time and she’s bigger now than she was then.
I think the surgery helps,
Still have to put in a lot of effort.
I know with meds and mobility issues it has to be difficult.
I’m on Ozempic. Haven’t lost jack. I am doubling soon though, so maybe that will make a difference.
I’m at 1mg of Ozempic @Bowens
Which dose are you on?
2.5. I am going up to 5 next wednesday.
