Yes and no, but I have a very rare heart condition that is the cause. It is not because of diabetes or cholesterol.

I know of someone who has had 2.

They are still alive.

Its not the sz that cause heart and metabolic problems but its the bad lifestyle not eating healthy or a lot and not moving or exercising. Smoking too. The majority of sz patients smoke I read.

I saw a doctor before who was doing a study on family members of schizophrenics and found they are prone to heart disease and had something differently about their arteries. Cant remember what now tho.

I have never heard of that i read lots of studies all said deaths from heart disease in szics are caused by a bad lifestyle

I live with cardiomyopathy so does my brother and sister it’s a genetic type not a medication induced one

That’s certainly fair.

My Uncle had one in early life(we think it was drug related… but he had a hard life)

I worked with him refurbishing our basement and got to know him in more modern times.

Still he was a lifelong smoker and ate whatever he wanted. He had something the doctor said was a ‘super colossal’ heart attack at age 57.

(Ozy, not trying to scare you… but a question to you perhaps would be: if you ever heard of this terminology? I may be playing telephone; and maybe my OTHER uncle who was hearing this cause of death didn’t hear correctly.

I miss this man. I was so near to going to him after my ill fated cross country trip(And one time psychosis).
