Has anybody had problems getting drunk after starting a new antipsychotics

12 years ago i had a alcoholproblem and was placed on a drug mamed antabuse. That drug served as an deterrent against alcohol intake because it makes you very ill fysically.when you drink. I quite amtabuse two years ago. In the meantime i was increased to 300 mg seroque. And the result of that that felt almost sober when i had a bottle of wine.

I notice to its harder to get drunk after being on ap. too. I’m on haldol.

The possibility of unpleasant permanent side effects of mixing a/p’s with alcohol scared me from ever trying to drink after being prescribed meds.

I’m not sure alcohol problems actually go away. If you’re now drinking a bottle of wine that could be a red flag.

Also alchohol + seroquel combination can be dangerous I believe.

I’m on Naltrexone and Zoloft. The combination makes me not drink at all. I used to drink alcoholically but now I don’t drink.

Nope. But I don’t drink anymore.

Honestly there is no fun in alcohol if you can’t get drunk so i better quit

Take benzos insteAd.

I think its the sz man. It dulls alcohol, but alcohol still gives me a mild lift so i am drawn to it. Just cuz drinking isnt the same as it used to be, doesnt stop me from wanting to use it.

Yea I don’t really get drunk on zyprexa.

I have slowed down drinking alot due to that

Although I over drinking so it’s a good thing

I can’t get drunk which is probably a good thing. I lose interest really quick, get tired, and give up. Hopefully I will not develop alcoholism.

I have decided to avoid to use alcohol because it is to dangerous to mix meds and alcohol. In the future I will remind myself that
I prefer to feel well and clearminded than intoxicated of alcohol
