Haldol vs risperidone which is more effective… some people saying these are similar effecting drugs ???

My understanding was that Haldol was stronger? I know that I was miserable on Risperdal. Way too many side effects, and I was on a really low dose too

According to studies Risperdal is the 3rd most effective after Amisulpride and Clozapine (1st).

But sometimes any med might not work for you. Zyprexa didn’t work for me but Abilify did.

And Studies say Zyprexa is more effective than Abilify.

I don’t have as bad of side effects from Haldol as I did from risperidone.

For me Haldol is ten different kinds of bad news. If they want to put me on that again they’re going to have to catch me first. I think Risperidone is milder. I think this kind of thing is decided to some extent by trial and error. If your symptoms are really bothering you try Haldol. If not, go with Risperidone.

For me, haldol is better

i’m doing good on a combo of risperdal consta 50mg and 200mg clozapine… dunno if haldol works better than risperdal
