Good luck @Om_Sadasiva. Clozapine has been a game changer for me. I would definitely recommend it if other drugs don’t work.
I can’t remember but were your voices smart @Sezbot241? And was it clozapine that stopped them?
Being on clozapine since 5 years. Blood tests were normal over all these years. Only regret is weight gain. But I changed my lifestyle, and have lost 10kg so far. Need to lose 10kg more to become normal.
What dose? 151515
Since I am very articulate, as pdoc said, I probably have paranoid schizophrenia.
It’s the subtype that looks more normal than the others, without flat affect etc.
DSM has no subtypes anymore.
ICD still has
My pdoc says the label of sz changes every year. How are your voices om?
Wishing you the best @Om_Sadasiva!
I was diagnosed with schizoaffective by first psychiatrist. Undifferentiated schizophrenia by the second. Now paranoid. No voices anymore
My voices were mostly negative and abusive. Clozapine did a great job in silencing them, among other things.
Hows the clozapine working for ya buddy?
That’s amazing! I’m asking to be put on it Tomorrow
It’s good. And blood tests are good.
It’s unlikely to have low white blood cells.
Very rare
I have been offered the chance to try it by my previous psychiatrist. I might ask about it with my new one, it’s worth trying, as long as we can go back to Zyprexa if it fails. I think I can take a couple of rough months if it backfires now that I’m in a more supportive environment. Zyprexa does nothing for the voices, and I haven’t tried Clozapine yet. If it could get rid of the voices I’d be really happy.
Hey guys i am on clozaril for the past 9 years, it has worked really well for me, it was a real game changer The only thing that i find hard is the weight gain and the bloods which are at the start blood is taken every week, then once every two weeks and then once every four weeks! And one other thing is icreased in saliva at night! sean
I have increased saliva on my pillow
It’s already 9 months ago.
Update: I take 250mg haldol injection
