We were coming back from buying groceries in town. I was trying to get out of the van, and my feet slipped out from under me, so that I was sitting on the floor of the van in front of the side door trying to balance an armload of groceries and get my feet under me. Then the girl sitting on the seat above me started getting out, but I asserted my right of way and went ahead and got my feet under me and exited the van. If I had waited for her to move past me I would have lost control of my armload of groceries, and it would have been a lot more work to get things back under control. I think she got mad because I did not wait for her to go ahead of me, but I’m fairly certain I had the right of way because I had been on my way out long before she even started to get her stuff together. It’s not really a big deal. I’m just grousing.
