Group therapy

So I found out today that I’m now able to go into group therapy and my therapist thinks it will work well for me and I hope he’s right… What do y’all think? Has group ever helped y’all?

The only group “therapy” I’ve ever been in was alchoholics anonymous and that helped me quit drinking.

Good luck with it. Let us know how you get on.

They laugh at you. I got up and left.

I don’t do well in groups of people but if you can try it out maybe you’ll like it.

My psychiatrist says I’m not ready for group therapy yet but thinks dbt would help me a lot, the clinic that does it has a 12 month program that includes a group therapy component and one on one therapy. I’m hoping to start the one on one therapy and see how they think I might go in group therapy. I am not good in groups and wouldn’t get any benefit from it at this point as it exacerbates my delusions.

I am in a group therapy. I think it’s good because you know people with similar problems.
