Who else has a problem with grocery shopping? Or are you all super organised with neatly written shopping lists in hand? I find it hard going into a supermarket and shopping.
I have a problem only when I feel I should cook more instead of making nachos and non alcoholic beer for every meal. I kind of get into that rut.
I have a problem with making a shopping list and just tend to wing it. I think grocery shopping really stretches my executive functioning to the limit.
I suck at grocery shopping. I am great at eating fast food, however. I Never have the motivation to get up and make food. I even think I’ve got a moldy puffball of broccoli in the fridge that I meant to cook with about a month ago.
I’m fortunate that my wife goes to the store to get groceries. I tag along occasionally, but the anxiety usually gets to me, always feels like I’m being followed.
We have a good grocery store here with low prices, it’s a big chain but smaller store. I just look around for what ever is on sale, no need for a list, I get my basics eggs, milk, bread then look for a deal. There is always some brand names available.
I do my shopping online and get it delivered, so I’m lucky.
I use mental note. I go to grocery store only when I have things to buy.
My secret is, don’t keep too much cash (or available fund in debit card) when shopping, in that case, you wouldn’t overspend.
I go to the supermarket pretty often, but I will usually buy groceries for just that day or for no more than a couple of days.
I am lucky that the local food market is rather small and is located like a couple of minutes driving from my home - so I don’t really get overwhelmed.
I would definitely have issues shopping at a larger market.
Had this problem yesterday…had to get milk lemon aid icecream and cookies…forgot the cookies…
I used to have this problem, until the grocery store near me came out with an amazing app. Whenever I see I’m out of something, I just add it to the app, and it organizes the whole list by aisle, and gives you the estimated total cost. It has been a real game changer. Mr. Star and I can both add items from our phones, and the list updates automatically.

No, but the grocery store is a very popular chain. It has a huge cult following around here. It’s almost a religion.
Do they sell Almighty potatoes? Lol
They do! When I lived in Oklahoma, I was outside the range of my beloved store, and it was awful. I vowed to never again live anyplace that doesn’t have one within twenty minutes.
grocer stores are great if you need to eat food though well subsistenec farming is there norm here but very little effort comes from waiting in line
We go grocery shopping and do a big shop once a week. I couldn’t do that one alone.
On my days off I usually go to the shops to pick up a few things for the day, but I need a list otherwise I sort of get lost in the grocery store.
Dagostinos langostinos are the most bellisimo
Back in da dayz when i had voices they were always saying nasty things so ofcourse they also added in that i dont deserve food and im not welcome in supermarket etc
I was not leaving my apartment at all untill i got my dog and then she had to be taken out 3 times a day.
My x bf did grocery shopping for me for a while then i did it myself but it was painful for me and not easy.
Now a days they have shop groceries online and you just pick up ready packed bags.
They even have home delivery or click n collect.
Its awesome for people like us or like me and elderly etc
I love food and appreciate my food and reckon i deserve da good stuff but i nolonger have voices.
Was years ago had them but i still get paranoia and strange thoughts, beleifs etc
I can do grocery shopping now.
I used to do click n collect and shop on line and just pick up my ready packed groceries.
Love it!
But lately ive just been going in person with shopping list.
I have problems a little.
I have to tell myself where i am and what im doing like every 5 minutes.
I might also get confused etc and can laugh out loud or feel like im “all over place”…
But I can do it.
Thank God!
I do like to take shopping list with me and a to do list.
I agree with wave that i also would have difficulties in a larger super market but the smaller ones i go to are easier for me so i dont get overwhelmed.
The only problems i have now is getting to and back from the grocery, and keeping the amount I buy to what i can carry sometimes due to my inability to drive. I actually like to go to the grocery otherwise because I am in control of what i buy, and eat now. That’s a nice freedom to have.
