Grapefruit my favourite

I was warned about grapefruit, yeah. I don’t like the stuff personally, so it was never a problem

Well here I am better than ever after eating grapefruits for over a year :stuck_out_tongue:

I also drink grapefruit juice almost daily :stuck_out_tongue:

Besides I see many ppl here taking dumb supplements that they don’t even know what they interact with and wasting money on snake oil

You are potentially taking a risperdal dose of 42mg a day! That is just plain stupid.

Comparing other people taking supplements is not even in the same league.

It is your body and your choice, but that is overdose levels and extremely dangerous, just because you like the taste of grapefruit.

Lols I dont have any problem its been a year, if what you say is true I must be having lots of side effects and sleeping 24/7 which I dont.

Supplements can trigger psychosis so they are worse.

Supplements can also trigger mania etc

You are constantly complaining about severe negatives though…

Yes and that was years before starting using grapefruit…

Have you heard of the Darwin awards?

I wish it was the grapefruit, its not that easy.

If I change my meds I will ask the Dr about grapefruit, though he never said anything about it.

I’m on Lurasidone (Latuda) and I can’t have grapefruit. My medication has a warning label on it.

The problem is that grapefruit is processed by and inhibits the CYP3A4 enzyme in your liver. That is the same enzyme that processes my medication (Lurasidone). If the enzyme is inhibited by the grapefruit it can’t process the Lurasidone, that means the Lurasidone will build up in my blood stream and cause an over dose, in severe cases it can lead to death.

If your medication says to avoid grapefruit I would avoid it, even if you love it.

Mine doesn’t say.

Read the packaging label. Mine (Lurasidone) says very clearly on it to avoid grapefruit juice.

Oh I am on Risperdal but yeah the pdf I have from Canadian Medical Association says grapefruit interacts with Lurasidone.

Uh, check with your pharmacist. I have a history of eating food and taking supplements that mess with my meds. Pretty sure my advice is not valued here.

My pdoc told me to not take any supplements as they’re useless and can badly interact with meds.
