Got switched to Abilify Maintena today

I had been getting the Aristada shot, a different form of aripiprazole. The Aristada had to be increased to every three weeks, because it wasn’t lasting the full four, but I swear I wasn’t getting full effects for even three weeks. I hope the Abilify Maintena does better for me. I’ll get my next shot in four weeks. Oral Abilify was the best drug for me, but it is no longer an option due to insurance reasons.

I received the 400 mg shot. It’s nice that she was able to give it to me in my arm, too. I wasn’t terribly bothered that the Aristada had to be shot into the top of my arse, but yeah the arm is nicer. :slight_smile:

I prefer depots over oral meds. I find them a lot more convenient.

If the depot works as well as the tablets did, then great. I have to take other meds in tablet form every morning anyway, so that doesn’t bother me. All I care is that it works. :blush:
