My psychiatrist has suggested switching to aripiprazole depot. Been having some physical stuff going on as a result of my current medication paliperidone.
Anyone have success with this medication ?
Yes. I’m on aripiprazole depot and I’m also taking aripiprazole pills. For me is the best antipsychotic I’ve tried.

I’m glad you have found something that works for you. I am feeling very anxious about a med change. I have my life together on paliperidone and god knows how a different anti psychotic will work.
Are you going on Abilify Maintena or Aristada? Those are two different forms of aripiprazole, both in the form of depot shots.
I’ve been on Aristada, and I currently receive shots of Abilify Maintena. Both are/were good drugs for me. I had been on Abilify tablets, but then my psychiatrist was no longer able to get them for me for free (no insurance).
Abilify/aripiprazole has been the best AP for me. It’s effective, and I have experienced minimal side effects. It killed my sex drive for a while, that was the main side effect, but that has come back to me now, so yeah, currently experiencing no noticeable side effects. I have to take Haldol tablets in addition to the shots, but that’s typical for me; my system requires a lot of medication to control symptoms.

I have been on it’s cousin brexipiprazole (Rexulti). It was awesome. Things were down to 30% volume most of the time and it didn’t take a lot of focus to get silence.

Im happy with The switch to Abilify Maintena from Invega Trinza. Im not as flat emotionally. The drawback is some positive symptom but I rather have it this way.

I started off on abilify maintena+oral tablets but then I switched to just the oral tablets which im on now still. I didn’t notice much of a difference other than not having to get poked every month and I think a more steady dose throughout the month. At the end of the months I would feel a little uneasy on the injections. Sometimes theyd tell me to take extra pills near the end of the month.
I prefer pills myself, but abilify injection was not bad if you are going by way of injection
