Got rear-ended today

Yeah, right before the holidays! Thankfully the damage was minor, there were no injuries, and…best news! The lady who hit me actually had insurance! It’ll be a pain to schedule getting a new bumper put on, as they’ll have to order it, put it on, and paint it, but it’s likely that they’ll cover a rental. I just really didn’t need this right now. Still, i was really lucky…

I’m glad you aren’t injured.

Oof. I’m really sorry that happened. I’ve been rear ended twice, and both times it felt like SO much to deal with on top of my everyday stresses. Good luck! I admire your positive attitude.

Yeah, what a time of the year for something like this to happen. Thank God you’re okay though!

My dad was driving my mom around once and dad tapped someone’s bumper and the airbags didn’t deploy (important part of the story) the insurance called Dad and asked if they had deployed my dad said no… Apparently the lady had friends take a basketball bat to the lady’s car and claimed it was a bad accident… When in reality he’d barely nicked the paint… The insurance took a look at the cops pictures and I’m not sure what happened to her… All I’m saying is don’t be a dick stick to the truth

sorry that happened…glad you’re ok…looks really cold in that picture.

I’m glad you’re ok @WhiteRaven. For your safety, is there a way for you to black out your license plate number?

I don’t know how to do that @HollyHobby. I guess you can just close the thread.

Thank you @HollyHobby for deleting the pic! I’m just not very technologically savvy and didn’t know how to do that (and i don’t know how to edit photos, either, even in this era of “pocket computers”)!

No problem. I didn’t want to close the thread unnecessarily unless, of course, you really wanted it closed. It seemed like the photo was the only issue. I’m not terribly technologically savvy either or else I would’ve just blacked out the license plate for you.

I’m glad no one was injured. Are you in a no fault state or will her insurance have to pay?

Her insurance already gave me a claim number. I just have to wait for the adjuster to call. They’re gonna have to put a whole new bumper on…they put those crappy plastic bumpers on cars now, and they just break up when someone hits you. It’s gonna cost her insurance about $800 to put a new bumper on, plus rental car coverage, cuz they’re gonna keep the car a few days. Also, i noticed my taillights aren’t coming on (the brake lights work, but no taillights) so they’re probably gonna have to fix that, too. But at least my car will get to have all the ice build up on it melted off in the garage!

I bet you’re relieved to know her insurance is paying for it. That’s great.
