Was by myself stopped at a red light, then all of a sudden some young lady in a huge SUV rams me from behind.
Got out of my car and was confronted by a cool and calm woman who to be honest seemed stoned or high on something.
I seemed calm on the outside but was actually freaking out on the inside - I blanked out for a while and forgot how to proceed.
Like an idiot I asked her if she could call the cops, even though I had my cell phone with me.
Our cars were blocking the road and causing a traffic jam.
Minutes later, a nice cop showed up on the scene and asked for our drivers license and insurance information.
The girl admitted to the cop that it was her fault and she kept her eye off the road.
The cop said that I could go.
I’m sitting at home now all shaken up.
Thank goodness no one was hurt and both the cop and women were nice.
Phew. As you say, nothing bad really happened. I actually have a fear of being in cars, like some people have a fear of flying. But I have to get taxis every now and then.
Thanks @everhopeful
Just wish I handled it better.
Cops freak me out, but glad this cop was pretty cool.
The woman who hit me seemed stoned, I’m almost positive she was but she was honest.
glad you are okay @Vertigo. last time i was in a car accident it was my mother in law’s fault but they tried to blame it on me said i distracted her. i remember it she failed to yield to oncoming traffic on a busy road. she was distracted by her cell phone
are you sore at all? i know after being in three different accidents and not being the driver but i remember being sore after every single one of them especially the second one damaged my back.
@Vertigo I’m sorry that happened to you. I hope you aren’t injured. I was in a wreck and it kept me from carrying a full backpack in school. Take care!
I hope you never need it, but put together an “accident kit.” This is a kit with all the info you’ll need if in a car accident. Car accidents are very stressful (mentally and physically), so it’s hard to think immediately after an accident.
