And he said if I need to come off the meds then I can discuss that with my GP down the line…
And I have been discharged now from the outpatient clinic…
So they don’t seem terribly concerned about the possibility of relapse in coming off the meds to be honest.
If you’re on 5mg you’re no longer on an antipsychotic. So be careful.

He was more than happy to put me on 5mg. He didn’t even ask why I wanted a reduced dosage. He just said yes immediately.
As I said before, some doctors aren’t aware that the the theraputic dose of abilify is 10mg. I really know in my gut that this isn’t going to end well. Sorry.

Thanks for the vote of confidence…
I’m just urging you to be vigilant. Do you have phone numbers to ring if things start to go wrong?
Everyone is so unique where’s the proof 5mg won’t do anything
So what is the point of 5mg then.
Sweets?
It’s used as an add on to an antidepressant. That’s the function of 5mg.

I think yes it somewhat helps the mood. Coming off it made me extremely anxious and manic.

In the instance it helps with psychosis is to keep the mood stable enough not to develop it.
Nope. It doesn’t help with psychosis prevention. At all.
Really?
I thought if you keep moods stable , it can prevent moods from gettting too low or too high so prevents the psychosis.
I was on 5 mg for two years after my first psychotic break.
I had a relapse and also a lot of symptoms during this time.
The withdrawal though… pure nightmare.

@everhopeful you stayed off med for 2 years and do you say that 5 mg abilify is not a therapeutic dosage?
That’s correct. I stayed off meds for 2 years. Then ended up psychotic in hospital. Because I wasn’t on an anti-PSYCHOTIC.
