Going to try to get on clozapine

I am going to do as my current psych recommended and get on clozapine.

I’m nervous. But I have bad symptoms and treatment resistance and I really think this is the way to go for me.

Is anyone here successfully using clozapine? Is it helpful for what I’ve described?

I’ve been on it for the past 4 years. never had to go to the hospital except at one point where my pdoc removed it. It helps with suicide ideation and controls my symptoms to keep’em at bay. Will definitely recommend it!

I agree that clozapine was a helpful med. It also reduced my suicidal thoughts a great deal. I wish i could’ve stayed on it, it was great for voices, too. Clozapine was successful for me, too, aside from the cardiac side effects that made me have to stop it.

I said no for years

It doesn’t treat it all but makes me calm enough to not particularly care

Plus it cured my insomnia

I’m taking clozapine currently, it’s pretty helpful but have to take a monthly lab test.

I’m on it for 25 years..
All good for it, except drooling and persistent voices.
Voices are probably from stress…
