Just got home from TCN Behavioral Health SUN clinic in Xenia Ohio and the nurse called me back letting me know what my nurse practitioner wants me to take so she ordered a prescription for me called Depakote. 250mg in addition to my Abilify15mg and Lexapro20mg I am to take it twice daily. I just took one when I came home from the gym this afternoon so wish me luck that I have no side effects from it I am praying and hoping I have zero side effects anyhow the list of side effects is just possibilities doesn’t mean I will get any side effects listed just worried a little. I hope this helps my mania. Anyone else have experience taking Depakote/If so what was it like and did it help you was you able to tolerate it well without nuisance side effects that would suck actually unless I have the side effect of weightloss

A very long time ago a dr thought I was bipolar because I had depression and experienced a psychosis even though I wasn’t hyper at all. I was the opposite of hyper. Anyway, the first drug they tried was Depakote. It didn’t help me, probably because I’m not bipolar and wasn’t manic. Anyway, it slowed me down (even more). So if you’re manic, I think Depakote helps slow you down and that’s a good thing. Other than that, I had no side effects

Everyone reacts to meds differently what works for me may not work for someone else I think this will help me I already see improvement and its only been two days so far taking it. I slept for the first time last night in a couple of weeks of not sleeping I slept from 10 pm to 7 am just now I am waking up nine hours opposed to 6 or 7 so A little better you’re only supposed to get 8 to ten hours sleep that’s enough for most people some sleep less some longer it depends on the person like I said.

I am calming down a little so maybe the Depakote250mg twice a day morning and bedtime I take will work fingers crossed will post at a later time and let everyone know how I am doing say after a month or a few weeks being on it and if side effects or not I hope not. Unless the side effects is decreased appetite and weight loss I wouldn’t mind that, I take in addition to my Abilify15mg and Lexapro20mg.
