Going down to part time (work)

I’ve been working full time, and it was going well, but I’m starting to feel run down and stressed. I’m wondering if it would be appropriate to go back down to part time.

What I mean is, does everyone feel run down and stressed? Should I just suck it up and deal?

Part and half time jobs are common in schizophrenia. You should not consider that as punishment or something else negative but as an adaptation of employement to your specific disabilities due to symptoms that may have developed in the course of disorder.

Can you ask for a temporary part-time position for like a month or so? That way you can have the option to go back to full-time and have a short break from working full-time? That way you don’t have to just suffer?

That’s really great that you work full-time! I don’t think I could handle sitting or doing something for 8 hours straight, but I’m still looking for full time work. You should be proud that you’ve been doing full-time this whole time!

I only work part-time, but it’s a stressful job, and when I feel the way you’re describing, I tend to get sick and stay home, which isn’t good. Burn out can be scary, because work doesn’t care how you feel, they just need you to keep working, but how can you when you’re exhausted?

My job is pretty physical, since I’m a housekeeper, but no, I don’t think I could handle sitting for 8 hours. Your suggestion about going temporarily part time is a good one! I didn’t think of that!
