I so badly want to go back to technical college. I want to start over. Who here is considering college? I miss it.
I failed to get my engineering degree, and never really got over that.
I wouldn’t be able to go back now anyway even if I wanted to. It’s a high pressure environment that even teenagers/20 somethings find difficult.
It’s a nice daydream though.
Taking a class or two would be good for you. Maybe even an online class?
I would love to go back to school for welding. But every time I get excited about even working again sza always puts me back in my place.
I can manage a couple hours a week helping my dad clean cabins but I feel the stress from that as well so school is probably a no-go.
They have a few online things but I’m waiting to stabilize. I know I’ll go back.
Well, it might not hurt to try.
I’ve been thinking of going for more schooling for about ten years. I applied and was accepted on two different occasions. First time had a panic attack at orientation. Second time got cold feet, likely ptsd from the first time.
@roxanna: what in technical school would be going for?
Computer networking and administration.
Nice! Good paying work, not too stressful I assume, and a high demand industry.
Another factor in me unregistering from school was cost. I still owe for undergrad and didn’t want to take on more debt.
What did you take in college?
I was an economics major. My actual degree is Management Science, essentially math based economics. It was difficult, that and being on the verge of illness made college a less than positive experience. Older and wiser now, I thought about giving school another go, but for reasons mentioned, I never did.
Now I check my community college’s extension courses for adults. They have some interesting ones like acting for tv commercials and stand-up comedy. Will def have to check out the comedy one, I feel like I could use some loosening up.
Sounds good. I stopped community college bc I was paranoid.
Is technical school online or in person?
In person for the most part.
Go for it Roxanna! I believe in you. But if you find it too difficult don’t be hard on yourself.
I sometimes entertain the idea of getting my bachelor’s degree in an online liberal arts and sciences program. I could transfer my AA to my local university and do it online.
Take care.
