Gluten free nutrient dense Ready meals

Hi,

I am looking for something hot and tasty under 400 calories and gluten free for my coeliac needs.

I tried the huel meals but didn’t like them. They were too sloppy. I still use their shakes though and could just have 4 shakes instead of three, but I like to have some hot food too.

I have to watch salt intake, so there is that.

I am looking for a seed, veg and nut melange I could just fry up in 5 mins in olive oil or something of that ilk. I would make it myself but I can’t source any gluten free seeds and nuts mix anywhere. They are all cross contaminated as the wholesalers don’t care about such things.

I have bought some yellow pea pasta pots and although they are scrummy, they are moreish and not satisfying. I bought a load with a first time 40% discount, but at full price they work out around £3 a pot for a pot smaller than a pot noodle! So when they run out I don’t think I’ll replenish them.

Anyone with any ideas?

I have found these vegan, gluten free ready meals by Fiid.

They are a Dutch firm and it works out at £3.33 a meal so more expensive, less calories, lower in salt, but more food than a zenb pasta pot.

Anyone tried them?

I don’t think you eat meat, do you? How are your eating habits? Healthy, I hope

I rarely eat meat. I quit drinking shakes because I’m favoring real food now.

I eat mostly healthy.

My freezer is not big enough really. It is just a little fridge freezer, not one of those big american ones.

Also, I am really sensitive to gluten and a lot of foods I find are cross contaminated, so although it is cheaper to bulk cook, it is certainly more convenient to pay extra for it for me. Amd get variety too.

Got my shipment of Fiid food pouches today, and I am pleased with the find indeed.

The pouches are 400g a packet and realised that with a couple of microwaved and air fried jacket potatoes that if i split the pack in two I can get a filling tasty meal for just under 400 calories.

I tried the first one and it was scrumptious, especially in comparison to the yellow pea pasta pots and it was filling, a fraction of the salt, packed with protein and fibre,

I actually feel like I had a meal, rather than something which is designed to be moreish and never fulfilling.

It works out at £1.62 a meal this way, and not the expected £3.31 a meal, so I am chuffed. Convenient, healthy and am now an accidental vegetarian as I still have milk but have stumbled upon a meat free diet.

Any lazy health conscious, economical, coeliac or vegan couldn’t do better than trying Fiid!
