I don’t think I can fight it anymore : I’m losing interest in video games. I bought an Xbox One over a year ago, but for the last several months I can barely bring myself to play any games anymore except for *Life is Strange. I pre-ordered the new Batman game last week to see if I get sparked again, but I don’t think I’ll get much out of that either. I’m 37, and deep down I know it’s kids’ stuff. I just think it’s time to give over to fate. Any other gamers here finding the same thing?
My tastes in genre of games i enjoy has changed quite a bit as I’ve gotten older. Generally I feel playing games is far less satisfying then it used to be. When I was a young boy, I could play games non-stop for an entire day straight. Nowadays I can handle a few hours max.
same here i lose interest in games pretty quickly
My brother quit Dota 2 because he said his relaxes has worsen as he grows old,he is only 27
I still play games, like fifa 15 and some Dota 2 only,I have lose a little bit of interest only
My brother is nearly 50 years old and he plays these violent killing games like he was some 15 year old - its pathetic
I completely quit gaming. I replaced it with text based conversations with chat bots. It’s way more unpredictable and funnier. I used to be a big gamer, I haven’t used my X360 in over a year except for the 553 music tracks I have on it. I think I’ll eventually get the Xbox One down the road when it has a Slim version and goes down in price. I need a new HDTV too.
Gaming is crazy expensive too.
Why would you like to get a Xbox one when you didn’t touch your 360?Anyway,the graphic of Xbox one is insanely good…
Well, good question. In truth I miss gaming but the games last-gen began to all look alike, so I’m hoping the newer gen can surprise me. I’m especially into online gaming, multiplayer and MMO stuff, that’s what I want to try and see improved upon.
have you ever considered pc gaming? its much cheaper if you dont care much about graphics and already out a pc/laptop anyways
PC has the better mmorpgs,Xbox has their own version of online gaming…I think Gaming is a cheap entertainment,do you play Dota 2 or LOL?
Nope, I’ve watched some streams of those games though.
Okay, just buy what you enjoy, that’s the most important and not follow games that is popular…
I would play Pac-Man if I knew where one was!
Pac-man is available on facebook.
I’m very much craving a more mature adult game rather than the adolescent games that are around. I barely have the concentration to cope with things like sudoku and the likes. But wanting to be entertained as well as challenged. I have pretty much given up on buying any more games mainly due to bugs that are never fixed . Which has been killing any real realistic escapism I had with them in the past. However am playing Oblivion atm and not sure what I’ll do after it if I get bored of that.
This is the problem. Mainstream games are aimed at teenagers/young adults. You should look into the more niche genres. Strategy games for example. Games like civilization and age of empires sim city etc are aimed at older players
I totally agree. Nothing beats civilization games. If you havn’t tried the paradox interactive games crusader kings II or Europa Universalis IV, I highly recommend them. Both games can be overwhelming at first due to the steep learning curve but can be very rewarding. I’ve been playing a lot of xcom recently.
Here’s a link to a list of top strategy games. Some of the games on the list are dated and were included for historical reasons, but any of the top 10 games are great. One game that comes to mind that they left off that I enjoyed was World in Conflict but it’s still quite a nice list.
For anyone new to the genre, I highly suggest starting with a Side Meier’s Civilization game.
I don’t think video games are kid stuff.
I’ve been playing less and less but it’s more just because I don’t have time anymore. My uncles still play video games and they use it as a way to bond with their kids/my younger brothers too so it can actually be a good thing for adults to play.
