You really need to speak to a dietician. Crash dieting won’t work.
Maybe you have an untreated eating disorder. I am a emotional eater meaning when i am emotionally down i eat. I think its frustration.
Just be careful. If you cut too many calories suddenly, your body goes into starvation mode so that you won’t lose much. Hope you can get it sorted out soon.
Crash diets are associated with rebound weight gain. You need to ease into a lifestyle change.
Thanks everybody. I really do understand your points. And generally I would agree. I am going to try this though. I have done it before with motivation due to delusional thoughts. I kept the weight off until such point as I was put on Invega, got sedentary and starting eating too much and not exercising. I then re developed diabetes. I really think this less extreme version can work.
I realize that this is not the ideal way to do it, but I have tried the reasonable method for a long time. I will post updates in this thread starting tomorrow.
I’m sure I can get all my nutritional requirements through a small, reasonable supper.
If I fail, you all have my permission to tell me " I told you so" .
Worst case scenario in my mind, I will be able to control blood sugar temporarily and either dont lose or regain the weight. It’s worth a shot.
Edit: PS, I just got some test strips at Walmart, so I will be able to monitor blood sugar and adjust appropriately.
That’s good. I’m glad
Me too dude. I am so overweight its not funny anymore. I barely recognise myself.
I think I have to be more active and go out every single day. It is hard to motivate myself though.
12:00pm update. Blood sugar very good thanks to very light breakfast and still taking meds. 123 reading. Fasting BS this morning was 160 something.
Plan on posting weight and blood sugar in this thread around 9pm daily until further notice. Likely until either I reach my goal or give up on it.
There are few ways that can work. My favorite is probably when you actually fall in love with your new lifestyle rather than just going down this extreme calorie deficit and undercutting route. It is true that calorie deficit is going to be needed at some point in order for body to tap into those fat reserves. But adherence to new lifestyle is a priority for anyone that is starting out.
Think in terms of nutrient density in food that is currently available for you because it will determine various factors including your hunger signals.
When somebody asks me I always recommend them replacing carbohydrates calories with fat calories and having medium portion of protein. I used to be pro ketogenic, but I ditched keto and went old school carnivore. Never felt better once I got my symptoms under control.
Elimination diet where I eat only meat and fat works best for me. It completes all the puzzle. Just my opinion, not trying to sell you anything nor convert you acting certain way.
You do need fruits and veggies and some carbs
I don’t have any fortified position against anyone who eat those things. I haven’t consumed any in last few years. So I don’t really need them, but thank you for looking out.
If it were me I’d start with zero junk food.
You guys are making me hungry with all this talk of food! lol
I will hold out for supper in about 2 hours though. Pulled out my old cheapo vape to keep myself busy since my “fake cigarette” has not arrived yet.
9:30 pm
Day 1
Had small supper did squats but no dog walk because I took a nap. No snacks.
Blood sugar is 86! Excellent. Actually will be forced to eat something as its a bit low for bedtime.
Weight is at 234.0 on the nose . Obviously I have not lost a pound since yesterday so probably mostly water loss or whatever.
How is Day 2 going?
Pretty good so far, Fasting blood sugar in low 120’s (cant remember exact reading) this morning. Had peanuts to hold me over until supper again. A little more than a handful this time.
I think the reduced food intake is allowing my system to “catch up” with the help of meds. So the temporary effect is significantly better blood sugar readings. Hopefully the poundage will start coming off as well.
Thanks for asking!
Pretty easy,
Count calories app
Down to 1000 kcal a day through 3 to 4 small meals a day
Food with high protein, low carbs
Green salats are good
No sugar, rice/pasta
Drink only water
Hide bad food from sight
Walk 30 min a day
Says you. Lol.
