Getting around

i want to move to a city. I’m afraid of driving and I need to live somewhere where I can get around without a car. Does anybody survive without a vehicle? and how?

I only leave the house about once a month. So I get taxis when I have to do that.

I didn’t drive until my mid-twenties (normal is at 16) I took public transit everywhere for years. Living in a city makes it even easier since public transit is well established and otherwise things are closer together, so you would have many things within walking distance.

yeah I’m leaning towards a move to the city for the transit, but I don’t know if i’ll be able to afford it

I live in a small country with good public transportation, so I just take the bus or the train when I need to go somewhere.

I survive without a vehicle. But, I live in an independent senior living community and they provide transportation to Dr.'s appointments and the grocery store and to Walmart and to the eye doctor and to the dentist and to therapist appointments and to the mall. I take a cab everywhere else. But, I go very, very few places. I order groceries and everything else online. I don’t see a therapist. My nurse comes to me. So, all I have to worry about is my pdoc and dentist appointments. And I get transportation provided for that.
