I’m asking those of you who are or have been on Geodon what side affects do or did you have? I’m unable to take antipsychotic because of the fluctuations in the brain chemicals, but Geodon was the worst. I often felt like every muscle was being electrocuted at the same time. I’d have to take 2 ativan or valium and go to bed, no matter what time of day it was. I left restaurants, the movies, the store, any time it hit me. I was hospitalized the last time because I couldn’t get my hands to relax from the rigidity.
Anyone else have the same thing or anything else?
I’m on Geodon and I don’t really notice any side effects I have been losing weight since I switched from Zyprexa but it might just be from my dieting and also I cant sleep but that also might be from something else, I haven’t noticed any side effects but when I first started it my hear would beat a little harder than it used to, and it makes me really tired a few hours after I take my morning dose but not tired at night, I always have to take a nap a few hours after my morning dose but I only sleep like 3 hours at night
I’m happy that Geodon works. I didn’t get tired, but I gained a lot of weight.
When I first woke up it felt like I had been run over by a truck. This lasted for about an hour.
I emailed my stupid pdoc because he told me to email him to say how it was going on Geodon, I told him I felt like I’d been run over by a truck first thing in the AM.
Like the moron he was, he replied, “what? You said your hung over”
Oh hehehe, so funny I forgot to laugh.
My connective tissue has been feeling fatigued lately. This is a fairly new development, and I have been on Geodon for over ten years, but I still suspect that the fatigue is a side effect from Geodon. This drug weakens me physically also. I like what Geodon does to my head, though. If it wasn’t for the physical side effects Geodon would be the perfect medication.
I loved Geodon, for the year and a half I was on it, but alas, a routine lab test revealed a high prolactin level.
MRI suggested a pituitary tumor, but wouldn’t you know it, they dismissed it as the technician got "over excited over a shadow"
Found out this year my cousin had the same tumor and had to get it removed.
Now finding a second cousin has same.
