Gabapentin anyone?

What ailments have you been prescribed gabapentin for? Did you like it? I feel like it’s such a catch-all kind of drug.

I just got put on it, again, this time for general pain and migraines. I’ve been on it previously for anxiety and sleep disturbances as well as headaches and pain relief.

So what else does it do? Anyone know? Did it ever help you?

I’m afraid I don’t have any personal experience with it. A close friend of mine was recently prescribed gabapentin for anxiety. He says it’s helping.

I took 1000 mgs every night for a year to regenerate/heal damage to my nerves in my spinal cord due to 2 bulging discs and mild arthritis. I was having sciatica from it. It was very painful. I am on the mend and not too painful anymore, not like I was anyway. It’s definitely a wonder drug and I would take it again for sciatica or other nerve related ailments.

My mother in law takes it for arthritis pain and it seems to work well for her.

I think @Ninjastar takes it for some reason too,

Pretty sure I’ve read something about it.

I think @daydreamer and @anon94176359 have experience with it. I’m not sure though.

Yeah I first got it for nerve pain but found it was pretty good for anxiety. Can cause euphoria in some after about a week but doesn’t last long. Settles down so you don’t even notice it - just a reduction in anxiety

i took it for anxiety for a while but i had the stronger version Pregablin, i dont think it helped much and put weight on me, made me bloated, I’m probably not the best person to ask, i think its worth a try bc as i remember the withdrawals are not that bad if you wanted to stop them.

It’s also technically an anti-convulsant. It really is prescribed for virtually everything.
