My husband just bought a full spectrum grow light in an attempt to start a garden in our basement. And then he installed a hammock chair right underneath it. I think he had an ulterior motive of trying to make me feel better! Now, I can absorb sunlight while I check the forums!
From folks who use a full spectrum bulb, how can I get the most out of it? We placed the chair two feet below and slightly to the side of the light.
My pdoc had me get one for at my computer table and she said me having it on for a couple hours was good. I’m kinda playing around with it. Too much time is really bothering my eyes and any less time isn’t boosting my mood at all. I’m still depressed but my eyes can’t handle more than a couple hours. Sometimes I turn it on and close my eyes and relax for a few minutes and imagine I’m outside with the sun on my face.
After almost a week, I can say I’ve definitely noticed a difference. I’m sleeping 8 hours a night, as opposed to oscillating between 3 and 12. I can do all my housework, and bake things. I feel much better.
Update: This is how motivated I have been since starting the full spectrum bulb. My house was an absolute disaster before, though I don’t have any before pictures.
Update: I have been using the full spectrum bulb for a couple months, now. The effects have dulled down, slightly, but I’m still sleeping better than I used to and I am accomplishing more during the day. Overall, I think it was a great addition to my life.
